A Superwoman Handbook

People ask me all the time, ‘How do you do it all?’ Truth is, most days, I don’t. Like so many women, I’m just figuring it out as I go, balancing work, family, and all the beautiful chaos life throws my way. That’s why I created A Superwoman Handbook. This podcast celebrates the women who make it all happen…or at least make it look like they do. Each episode, I sit down with incredible women who are redefining what it means to ‘have it all’ in their own way. If you’ve ever wondered how other women are juggling it all, or need a reminder that you’re not alone, this is the podcast for you. We’ll figure it out together, one story at a time.

Cancer does not get the final word — not when Sharon Clark has anything to say about it.
In this powerful episode of A Superwoman Handbook, Gillian Utesch sits down with Sharon Clark, founder of Your Transformation: The Empowered Cancer Experience, to discuss her extraordinary journey through four cancer diagnoses, resilience, mindset, and reclaiming control over her own story.
Sharon shares the moment she was told her cancer was terminal and how that diagnosis became the turning point that changed everything. Instead of accepting fear as her future, Sharon chose to challenge the narrative, shift her mindset, and become an active participant in her healing journey.
Through her experiences, Sharon explores why the words we use around illness matter, why she chooses the term “experiencer” instead of “survivor,” and how changing the way we see ourselves can transform the way we move through life’s hardest moments.
In this episode, you’ll discover how Sharon uses neuroscience-informed tools, NLP, breathwork, self-care, and mindset practices to help people navigate fear, overwhelm, and identity changes after a diagnosis. She shares how small choices during difficult seasons can create a sense of control, hope, and empowerment.
Sharon also discusses her vision of creating a global holistic healing network to connect cancer experiencers with resources, support, and options that align with their individual journeys.
This conversation is for anyone navigating cancer, supporting a loved one through illness, or searching for a deeper understanding of resilience, healing, and the connection between the mind and body.
Sharon’s story is a reminder that a diagnosis does not define the person living with it. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is take back your voice, rewrite your story, and decide what comes next.
Watch this inspiring conversation from A Superwoman Handbook and discover how mindset can become a powerful part of the healing journey.

A goodbye doesn’t always happen in one moment.
In this powerful episode of Thursday Unplugged, Patrick Reid shares the deeply personal story behind his song “A Complicated Goodbye” — a raw reflection on losing a parent to dementia and trying to understand the emotions that come with grief, love, and letting go.
Patrick opens up about his father’s passing after years of decline and the complicated emotions that surrounded the journey. From watching someone slowly disappear to finding unexpected comfort after the loss, he shares the story behind the song and the moment when the words finally came together.
Through his conversation and performance, Patrick explores the realities many families face with dementia and Alzheimer’s, including the heartbreak of memory loss, the guilt that can come with grief, and the strange mix of sadness and relief that sometimes follows a long goodbye.
He shares how a simple conversation with a massage therapist inspired the song, why writing about loss was difficult for years, and how sitting by the beach helped unlock the lyrics that had been waiting to be written.
Patrick then performs “A Complicated Goodbye” — an honest and emotional first version of a song about watching someone slowly fade away while holding onto the memories that remain.
This episode is for anyone who has lost a parent, cared for someone with dementia, or struggled to find the words for a goodbye that never felt simple.
Because some goodbyes are complicated — but love remains.

The trip was supposed to save the marriage. Instead, it became the moment everything finally became clear.
In this powerful episode of A White Collar Wife, Gillian shares the story behind “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” — a chapter shaped by travel, unexpected moments, and the emotional turning point that changed the direction of her marriage.
What begins as a simple getaway to the Northeast becomes a deeper reflection on love, resentment, parenting, communication, and the difficult reality of recognizing when a relationship is no longer the same.
Gillian opens up about the decision to draft divorce papers, the move to Reverie House, and the hope that one final trip could create a fresh start before everything reached a breaking point. Through the journey of planes, trains, and unexpected detours, she reveals the moments that forced her to confront the truth about her marriage.

In this episode, you’ll discover:
Why the trip became a defining moment in the future of the marriage
How a “save the marriage” effort revealed deeper challenges that could no longer be ignored
What the move to Reverie House represented emotionally and personally
How different communication styles, a 17-year age gap, and changing priorities affected the relationship
Why some moments of clarity come when we stop trying to force what no longer fits
This episode explores more than the end of a relationship. It’s about identity, family, healing, and finding the courage to make difficult decisions when life takes an unexpected turn.
Raw, honest, and deeply personal, Gillian’s story reminds us that sometimes the journey we take to fix something becomes the journey that reveals the truth.

Women are not failing at ambition — ambition is being punished.
In this powerful episode of A Superwoman Handbook, Gillian Utesch sits down with Stefanie O’Connell, award-winning journalist and author of The Ambition Penalty, to discuss why ambitious women are often judged more harshly for the same behaviors that are celebrated in men.
Stefanie shares her insights on how workplace culture creates hidden barriers for women who speak up, negotiate, pursue leadership, and advocate for themselves. Through research, personal experiences, and real-world examples, she reveals why ambition can become a disadvantage in environments where women are expected to succeed while still making themselves smaller.
In this episode, you’ll discover why women can ask for opportunities and still face unequal outcomes, how words like “ambitious,” “difficult,” and “not a team player” are often interpreted differently depending on gender, why the pressure of “having it all” continues to fall heavily on women, and what changes can create more equitable workplaces.
Stefanie explains why the challenge is not that women lack confidence or ambition — it’s that outdated systems and workplace expectations continue to shape how ambition is rewarded and recognized.
This conversation is for women navigating careers, leaders building stronger teams, and anyone wanting to understand the hidden challenges ambitious women face in professional spaces. Stefanie’s message is a powerful reminder that ambition is not something women need to apologize for — it is something that should be valued.
Watch this inspiring conversation from A Superwoman Handbook and discover why changing the system starts with understanding the barriers that have been holding women back.

The advice everyone gives about faster, busier, and more is backwards.
In this powerful episode of A Superwoman Handbook, Gillian Utesch sits down with Deanna Becket to discuss slowing down, finding peace, and creating a life built on intention instead of constant pressure.
Deanna shares her deeply personal journey through adoption, healing, marriage, parenting, and homeschooling — revealing how slowing down changed the way she approached family, relationships, and life itself.
Through her story, Deanna explores why being constantly busy doesn’t always mean being productive, and how choosing a slower, more intentional pace can create deeper connections, better decisions, and a healthier way of living.
In this episode, you’ll discover why Deanna chose adoption and how she reframes it as a gift of love, how slowing down helped her create more peace in her family life, the lessons she learned from nearly 30 years of marriage, how homeschooling became a journey of connection instead of pressure, and why “slow down to speed up” can transform the way we live and lead.
Deanna reminds us that the rushed version of ourselves often misses the moments that matter most. When we slow down, we create space for healing, connection, and the life we truly want.
This episode is for anyone feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to do more, achieve more, and keep going without pause. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, entrepreneur, or simply someone searching for more balance, Deanna’s story offers a powerful reminder that peace is not passive — it’s something we intentionally create.

What if happiness isn’t found by getting more—but by appreciating what you already have?
In this episode of Thursday Unplugged, Patrick Reid explores the powerful connection between gratitude, self-awareness, and true happiness. Through personal reflections, meaningful conversations, and music, Patrick shares why constantly comparing ourselves to others can steal our joy and prevent us from recognizing the value of our own lives.
Patrick dives into the idea that success isn’t just about achieving everything we want—it’s also about learning to want what we already have. Inspired by Charlie Daniels’ perspective on contentment, he reflects on why self-acceptance and authenticity are essential parts of living a fulfilled life.
Through his song “Fuck Them All,” Patrick explores themes of embracing imperfections, letting go of outside expectations, and finding confidence in who we truly are. He reminds listeners that our flaws, struggles, and experiences are all part of what makes us unique.
This episode is a heartfelt reminder that happiness doesn’t come from chasing someone else’s life. It comes from gratitude, self-awareness, and accepting yourself exactly as you are.
Because comparison steals joy—but authenticity brings it back.

What if time alone doesn’t heal grief—but the actions you take afterward do?
In this powerful episode of A Superwoman Handbook, Gillian Utesch sits down with Dawn Michele Jackson, a grief recovery specialist, nurse, author, and speaker who reveals why so many people remain stuck in pain after major life changes.
Dawn shares her personal journey through divorce, childhood trauma, family struggles, and hidden losses that transformed the way she understood grief. She explains that grief is not only connected to death—it can come from relationships ending, postpartum changes, estrangement, unmet expectations, and any transition that changes the life we once knew.
Together, Gillian and Dawn explore why being told to “just give it time” can leave people feeling lost and what truly helps people begin moving forward. They discuss the difference between grief and depression, why unresolved emotions can impact relationships, and how everyday coping habits can sometimes keep us from healing.
Dawn also shares how intentional action, self-discovery, and compassion can help transform pain into growth and create space for a new chapter. Drawing from her own experiences and years of helping others heal, she reminds us that grief is not something to simply wait out—it is something we can learn to process and move through.
This episode is for anyone navigating divorce, family changes, postpartum emotions, relationship struggles, or a season of life where everything looks fine on the outside but feels heavy underneath.
Because grief has many faces, and understanding it is the first step toward healing.

In this powerful episode of A Superwoman Handbook, Gillian Utesch sits down with Shannon D. Roy, a trial lawyer, mother, and global explorer who built her career on confidence, resilience, and refusing to shrink herself for others.

From building her own defense firm to navigating pressure, criticism, motherhood, and reinvention, Shannon reveals what it takes to trust yourself, find your own path, and step into rooms without waiting for permission.
Through her journey, you’ll discover the importance of learning what you don’t want, surrounding yourself with people who support your growth, and embracing the courage to create a life that truly fits who you are.

What happens when the person you trust becomes the source of fear, control, and emotional destruction? In this episode of A White Collar Wife, Gillian Utesch shares her personal journey through what she describes as “white-collar domestic terrorism”—a hidden form of abuse that can leave deep emotional, financial, and psychological wounds without visible scars.
Gillian takes listeners inside her experience of facing manipulation, legal battles, false accusations, and the overwhelming challenges that can happen when abuse hides behind a public image of respectability. She explores how emotional and financial control can impact a person’s sense of safety, freedom, and ability to move forward.
Through her story, Gillian reveals the warning signs of covert abuse and how tactics involving fear, control, and legal pressure can create a devastating cycle for victims. She shares why understanding these patterns, knowing your rights, and seeking support are critical steps toward protecting yourself and rebuilding your confidence.
This episode is a powerful reminder that abuse does not always look the way people expect. Sometimes the hardest battles happen quietly, behind closed doors, where others may never see the struggle.
Whether you have experienced emotional manipulation, support someone going through abuse, or want to better understand the hidden realities many people face, this conversation will bring awareness, validation, and hope.
Because recognizing the truth is the first step toward healing, freedom, and reclaiming your life.
